OIL MASSAGE
Penetration of medicated oil is through transcutaneous route which is dependent on osmosis, molecular weight, concentration etc. Our Kerala masters achieved administration of medicines through percutaneous routes from centuries back.

Oil massage in general, prevents the signs of old age and fatigue and alleviates the vata. It improves eyesight and complexion.

Oil massage is very beneficial to rheumatic complaints. Regular application of oil on the head prevents head-ache, baldness, greying and falling of hair. Application of oil to the body gives glossy softness to the skin, improves colour and it induces sound sleep.

PRESSURE MASSAGE
Pressure massage involves exerting pressure on the muscle after or while the oil is applied. On the one hand, pressure stimulates tissues and blood circulation beneath the skin on the other hand pressure has a tonic effect on vital points (Marmas).

MASSAGING WITH THE FEET
This special massage is only practiced in Kerala, where a few schools teach the traditional martial art forms. The method is used to make the body strong and subtle.

VITAL POINTS (MARMAS)
The Vital points are very important parts of Ayurvedic anatomy. An injury to one of these points will lead to permanent damage or even death. Very early on, it was known that these vital points and systems could be strengthened by massage. Classical martial art and its massage techniques are still performed in Kerala.
