BEYOND THE BACKWATERS
Relish the magic of Goa amidst a tropical paradise dotted with enchanting

unspoiled beauty with tranquil beaches, gorgeous hills, enchanting backwaters
and lagoons, exotic spices and meandering rivers. Or rejuvenate your mind,
body and soul with the famous Ayurveda, the most tempting gift of Kerala.

Duration: 14 Nights / 15 Days
Day 01: DEPARTURE FLIGHT
Depart on Excel Airways from Gatwick (South
Terminal) overnight to Goa.
Day 02: GOA
On arrival at Goa’s Dabolim Airport transfer to your chosen hotel. Afternoon
at leisure.
Day 03- 04: GOA
Two full days of relaxation in magical Goa.
Day 05: KOCHI
Fly to Kochi (Cochin) in the coastal state of Kerala. The afternoon city tour
includes the Jewish Synagogue, the ancient Mattancherry Dutch Palace, St Francis’
Church, and the Fort Cochin area. In the evening watch a performance of Kathakali,
Kerala’s fascinating traditional dance. Overnight at the Trident Hilton
Hotel.
Day 06: KUMARAKOM
Drive to Kumarakom (110 km/21/2 hours). On arrival, check in to the Taj Garden
Retreat. (B)
Day 07: KUMARAKOM
A full day at leisure to explore Kumarakom or why not sample some traditional
ayurveda treatments?
Day 08: PERIYAR
Drive to the Spice Capital of India, Thekkady (120 km/4 hours). As the road
winds through mountains, you will descend through a carpet of tea, rubber tree
and coffee plantations and fields of cardamom and pepper plants. This afternoon
visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, home to wild elephant, bison, antelopes, langurs
and sambar. Overnight at the Taj Garden Retreat.
Day 09: HOUSE BOAT
After breakfast, drive to Allepey and board a house boat, also known as a ‘Kettuvallam’*
(145 km/41/2 hours). Spend the day gliding on the tranquil backwaters around
Allepey.
Day 11: KOCHI
Disembark the house boat and transfer to Kochi (75 km/11/2 hours). On arrival
transfer to the Trident Hilton Hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 12: GOA
A morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Goa. On arrival, transfer
to the hotel of your choice for the next 5 nights.
Day 15: RETURN
Transfer to Goa Airport for your Excel Airways daylight flight to Gatwick.
