01:
Arrive
Delhi, Check-In, Afternoon city tour of Delhi.
Day
02:
Morning
meeting with a group of Professional women and housewives, informal
talk by a Sociologist and a journalist on the following subjects:

Role of the Indian Women in society with emphasis on Traditions
of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Mixed Marriages....
Meeting and interaction will carry on over lunch... Afternoon,
city tour of Delhi.
Day
03:
Leave
for Jaipur by surface check-in. Afternoon city sightseeing and visit
to a handicraft center run and operated by Rajasthani women.
Day
04 :
Morning,
visit Amber Fort. Afternoon, informal gathering over tea with some
Rajput Princesses and Professional women and Housewives. The secret
lives of Havelis, the tradition of "Sati" are some of
the topic for discussion.

05:
Leave
for Agra via Fatehpur Sikri. Afternoon visit of the Taj Mahal.
Day
06:
Leave
for Khajuraho by air. Afternoon tour of the temples, followed by
an evening "Arati"(Prayer Ceremony) the Kandariya Mahadev
temple. The evening "Arati" is attended by majority of
women. Religion is very important aspect of the woman's life. Through
her daily prays, the woman seeks her God's blessings for her husband
and children. At the end of prayer she will carry back home a handful
of rose petals blessed by her special divinity.

07:
Morning
visit to the village of Khajuraho by horse drawn carriages.
This village gives an overview of the largely secular nature
of Indian life. Hindus, Muslims and Christians live together
in harmony. You will see women engaged in their daily routine,
A school being run by a Brahmin lady, and a Panchayat (Indian
Civil Court) in action under the shade of a Banyan tree.
Leave for Varanasi by air. Check-IN. Afternoon city tour.
Day 08:
Early morning
boat ride on the Ganges river followed by a visit to an Indian family's
home for lunch.The Hindu united family is a centuries old legal
system whereby all the members of a particular family live together
in the same house including the parents, all the male progenies,
their wives and children. A household could total upto 25 to 30
people including the children. A Scholar will give a talk on the
customs and rituals. The women of the house will personally prepare
lunch which will be vegetarian meal served in "thalis".
Late afternoon, leave for Delhi by air.
Day
09: Morning visit to kairali Ayurvedic health center for a herbal
massage and a facial. Ayurveda in sanskrit means the science of life. This traditional
form of Indian medicine believes not only in the treatment of ailments but also
in their prevention.
Day 10: Leave India
